Getting Started with Transactional Replication

Transactional replication is probably the most common type of replication you will encounter. This session is a quick start to get you up and running with it. Items covered:

- overview of what transactional replication is and what you might accomplish with

- walk through setting up transactional replication both via the wizard and t-sql scripts

- demonstrate monitoring replication with Replication Monitor and discuss other options for alerting and monitoring

- briefly discuss some troubleshooting options


Bio:

Heather Wright is a Database Developer/Administrator @ White Clarke Group here in Toronto.

She has worked with databases for about 10 years. She has been using MS SQL Server for about the last 5 years and prior to that, she worked with Oracle for about 5 years. Transactional replication is a key part of her company's environment.

Please note the later time and that this is a Monday meeting, due to issues getting a room for May.
