TorPASS Sept 2013 Meeting - Power BI & SQL Server

Power BI - What You Need to Know Now Microsoft has brought business intelligence to the cloud. What does this mean and how does this work? In this session, we'll review the BI components available in the cloud BI stack. We'll also compare and contrast functionality of the cloud BI tools with on-premises tools. After attending this session, you'll have a better understanding of what's possible and whether it's time to launch your BI-in-the-cloud solution. Stacia is a consultant, educator, author, mentor, and principal of Data Inspirations. Her career spans more than 25 years with a focus on improving business practices through technology. Since 2000, she has been providing consulting and education services for Microsoft's business intelligence technologies. In addition, she has authored or co-authored several books covering different components of the Microsoft SQL Server database and business intelligence platform. Stacia has presented at the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS), Microsoft's TechEd, SQL Server Magazine Connections, and various Microsoft events. She currently lives in Las Vegas. What's Coming in SQL Server 2014 Rohan and Karen will be giving a brief update on new features coming in SQL Server 2014 (didn't we just get SQL Server 2012?
